Editorial Guidelines

Tom Guider follows a simple editorial process to make sure articles are accurate, useful, and worth your time.

Our process

  1. Topic selection: We pick topics based on real reader questions and search data — what people actually want to know.
  2. Research and outline: We research current information, official documentation, and verified sources, then build an outline.
  3. Drafting: Articles are drafted with AI assistance, then reviewed and edited by our team.
  4. Fact-check and review: Every article is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and helpfulness before publishing.
  5. Updates: When tech changes (new OS versions, app updates, new fixes), we revisit and update existing guides.

Our standards

  • Plain English. We avoid jargon and explain things the way a friend would.
  • Real steps. Tutorials should actually work. If a step is unclear, we rewrite it.
  • No fluff. Get to the point. No 500-word intros before the answer.
  • Transparency. We disclose affiliate links, AI assistance, and any sponsored content openly.
  • Updates over inflation. When something changes, we update the original article rather than publishing a near-duplicate.
